  • Dr. Gerson: It’s really no different than taking care of the rest of your body: maintain a good diet and healthy habits like exercise, and you go a long way toward nourishing your eyes.

  • Dr. Gerson: A “colorful” diet is the best. Go for variety and add lots of fruits and veggies. Many people think carrots are best for your eyes. Spinach is actually better—it has more of the lutein and zeaxanthin that your eyes need. But carrots are still better than french fries. Food is the best way to get the right nutrients, but most people won’t get all they need. That’s why a supplement is a good idea.

  • Dr. Gerson: Age is not an excuse for poor vision. If you’re having an issue seeing, there’s probably a reason other than age. Keeping your eyes nourished with the right nutrients and practicing good habits can help.
